Lichess.org, the official server
lichess.org is the free, libre, no-ads chess server. Kingside is a separate board and does not share its accounts.
What you will find on the official site
The Lichess homepage calls the project a free, libre, no-ads, open-source chess server. From there you can start a lobby game, open puzzles, run a study, watch a broadcast, or use the analysis board, the board editor, and PGN import. Donations and a patron program fund the servers. The source is on GitHub under lichess-org/lila.
Sign-in and registration live only on lichess.org. This site will not show you a Lichess login form. If a page that is not lichess.org asks for your Lichess password, close it.

What you can do here instead
Play a local game, solve puzzles, open the analysis board, use the editor, or replay a PGN. None of those actions creates a Lichess game or a Lichess rating.
Searches for "lichess org" and "lichess org chess online" are how many people type the address. The host you want for an account is https://lichess.org/. The host you are on now is an independent chess desk with the same piece rules.
Questions
Where do I log in to Lichess?
On https://lichess.org/ only. Kingside does not accept Lichess usernames or passwords.
Is Kingside affiliated with Lichess?
No. Lichess is a separate open-source project. Piece artwork on this board is the public-domain CBurnett set, which Lichess also uses. The sites are not the same product.
